GAMMA NU NU

HISTORY

In the Beginning, fourteen (14) Brothers began discussing the idea of requesting a new Charter for the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst area. A number of planning meetings were held, and working directly with then Corridor IV Representative Bro. Delrecole C. Gales, there was also the entertaining of the idea to reactivate an inactive Chapter, which it was originally thought it would have been approved faster. However, in speaking with the Brothers, we decided that we would like to create our own history, and the suggestion to reactivate an expired Charter was voted down.

On September 11, 2018, the request for a new charter was submitted from the Brothers of this area to Corridor IV Representative Bro. Delrecole C. Gales on yet another attempt to request a new Chapter. Upon its receipt, 36th Second District Representative J. Kendall Smalls approved such and submitted to the Supreme Council. Finally, on July 11, 2019, the Supreme Council granted approval for a new Charter at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to be named GAMMA NU NU #978. Also known as the “Bridge Builder Ques,” this date is special not only because it is the date of the Charter, but is also a date special to Omega Men across the globe. Gamma Nu Nu’s mission is to serve the community at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and the surrounding areas through innovative programs, and effective partnerships that reflect and grow the principles of the vision of the Founders and Leadership of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
